Kin Boy / Son
Lars Beller Fjetland grew up and still resides on the west coast of Norway, where he has nurtured a lifelong fascination for the inherent qualities found in nature’s finest materials. At the core of Lars Beller Fjetland’s design philosophy lies the idea that timelessness and longevity arise from an immediate, honest functionalism in form and aesthetic. Pairing a holistic, sustainable approach with a deep understanding of manufacturing in all scales, Beller Fjetland embodies the qualities of the timeless designer. “Kin” is synonymous with friends and family; It’s a concept devoted to celebrating the ones that are closest to us; The nearest and dearest. Today, the word ”family” has beautifully extended far beyond traditional paradigms. The Kin collection encompasses this shift by allowing for a range of possible constellations, It’s possible to pick and choose freely between the various characters to manifest a unique relationship.
The tilting heads allow the figurines to express subtle emotions, both alone and while interacting with each other: “Curious, Admiring, Thoughtful, Shy”. • The word ”Kin” as synonymous with friends and family • The possibility to choose freely between the various characters to manifest a unique relationship • The tilting heads that allow the figurines to express subtle emotions
