The Moomin ABC mugs are decorated with adorable initials featuring various Moomin characters. The R mug depicts Fillyjonk and her children observing Moominmamma and Moominpappa's cleaning day. The R mug is part of the “Reading, writing and the Moomins” initiative that promotes the importance of literacy and the joys of reading. The mugs' Moomin alphabet is based on Tove Jansson’s hand-drawn initial capitals and lettering created for the book The Memoirs of Moominpappa as well as her maps of Moominvalley. The mugs' form is familiar from the Iittala Teema series, but in contrast to most Moomin mugs, the ABC mugs’ size is larger: 4 dl.
