The Winter Games Moomin Mug continued the series of Winter season mugs started by Skiing Competition mug. Mug’s drawing is from Tove Jansson’s comic strip Moomin’s Winter Follies. This mug was launched without a similar themed Moomin bowl, but instead Arabia released its first mini mugs in 2011. A bit over 3 centimeter tall mini mugs have always been sold in the package of four. Mini mugs became immediately popular among the collectors, mugs can be used for example as Christmas tree decorations. Just like most of the Moomin mugs, the mini Moomin mugs have been designed by Tove Slotte.

Tove Slotte

Arabia’s Moomins are turned from stories to ceramic illustrations by designer Tove Slotte. She has been drawing Moomins onto Arabia items since the beginning of the 1990s. The designer draws inspiration from Tove Jansson’s original illustrations, which she adapts to ceramic shapes. The Moomins have always been close to Tove Slotte’s heart. She articulated the significance of the Moomins nicely when she said: I think everyone should enjoy a little dose of Moomin philosophy every day.
