Slit jug (original) Designer: Eva Stæhr-Nielsen Spaltekanden is Eva Stæhr-Nielsen's (and Saxbo's) best known work. Works both as a jug, a vase and as a sculpture for everywhere in the home. It was in production from 1933 until the workshop closed in 1968. The slit jug is stoneware with egg white glaze - and is handmade in Portugal.

The slit jug is world-class Danish ceramics The slit jug is unique and serves as a jug, a vase and as a sculpture for all places in the home. The shape of the slit jug is created by a unique use of a twisted tall, narrow neck that is cut through. One part is bent forward as spouted, while the other part is bent backwards and down towards the jug like hank. The slit jug is also available in a medium version of 18 centimeters. Eva Stæhr-Nielsen is Denmark's largest ceramicist During her career, Eva Stæhr-Nielsen received a number of international design awards. For example, she received a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937, honorary diploma in 1954 and 1957 gold medal at the Triennale in Milan. She has also won awards in Tokyo and the United States, among others. She also received a number of scholarships and honors, including Ingrid Jespersen's scholarship in 1958, Tagea Brandt's Travel Grant in 1965, the Danish Crafts Year's Prize in 1967 and the C.L. Davids Scholarship in 1975. Today, her old stoneware design is coveted among collectors all over the world. Spring Copenhagen works closely with Eva Stæhr-Nielsen's family to relaunch some of the unique and timeless designs she created in the years from 1932 to 1968.
