The 201 mm bubble glass version of the Aalto vase is a spectacular interpretation of the design icon. Each vase is handmade and mouth-blown at the Iittala glass factory, and the pattern formed by the bubbles makes each piece unique. The bubbles are created using the traditional technique of adding soda to the hot glass before the next layers of glass. The end result is a living texture that changes according to the light.
