The timeless classic gets a new interpretation in the bubble glass version of the Aalto vase. Each vase is made by hand and blown at the Iittala glass factory. Since the formation of bubbles cannot be completely controlled, each vase is unique. Bubble glass is created using a traditional technique in which soda is added to hot glass before blowing a new layer of glass. When released, the gas forms delicate air bubbles in the glass, which bring a lively effect to the surface that reflects light beautifully. The 120 mm vase is suitable for small flower arrangements or as a single design object. It highlights Alvar Aalto's iconic, organic lines in a new, modern way.
