Lady with Hat Vase - H19.7" pink
Invite a real Lady into your home so she can spread her happy vibes with her lovely colours, quirky details and hand-painted decorations. Bjørn Wiinblad had a love of figurines with hats, and the archives contain countless examples of how hats keep appearing in new, creative and playful ways. Of course, he didn't design small, ordinary hats: No, they were large, opulent creations that were both sculptural and avant-garde in their style – just like in the Lady with Hat series. And Bjørn Wiinblad’s universe probably doesn't get much more magical, imaginative, fantastic and opulent than this metre-high vase – an extravagant showpiece made of glazed ceramic that embraces everything that is crazy, quirky and creative in Bjørn Wiinblad’s world. The vase measures no less than 50 cm in height and is hand-decorated from top to bottom with motifs inspired by Bjørn Wiinblad’s diverse archive. And it’s not just one vase. The vase consists of two individual vases that work both together and separately. The base of the vase is adorned with the iconic face featuring the triangular nose, almond-shaped eyes, rosy cheeks, and whimsical smile. With her sculptural arms, the hand-painted Lady holds the large hat, which is decorated with charming ceramic tulips on each side. The dress is fully decorated with circles and stripes in a fresh and bold pink hue, beautifully balanced with light yellow, light blue, green, and red tones – colours that bring positivity, warmth, and add plenty of brightness. And if you look a little closer, you’ll also find the sweetest hand-painted roses and checkered patterns with small openings on the sides, where your favourite flowers can gracefully fall into place. At the bottom of both parts of the vase, you’ll find the original Bjørn Wiinblad signature and a text documenting that the vase is hand-painted – validating that you have your very own unique hand-painted design icon. Use the vase to give your guests a lavish welcome in the hallway or as a statement piece on the sideboard, in the windowsill, or on the table.
