Almedahl's history begins in the late 1830s when Hans H Wesslau took over a dyehouse and a bleaching plant with about twenty employees who had become insolvent.

• 1846 - Hans H Wesslau founded Almedahls with the production of linen fabrics.
• 1847 - Almedahl takes great social responsibility. Construction of housing and a free school for the families of factory workers. They had free medical care and free medicine, as well as accident insurance and a pension and funeral fund.
• 1848 - The company grows rapidly and its turnover has doubled. There were now 83 employees
• 1857, 1862 - was awarded several awards for its high quality at the World Expositions in Paris and London
• 1900 - Almedahls, together with Jonsereds Fabriker, accounted for 50% of Sweden's production of linen products Wartime and tougher times for Almedahls, but things would turn around!
• 1955 - Almedahl's collaboration with Astrid Sampe and NK's textile chamber Linen Line - for a modern linen store. Now came a new era for color and form, and new modern design lines are being created with the foremost designers.
• 1958 - The head office moved from Gothenburg to Dalsjöfors in 1958 and since 2005 to Kinna, which is located 45 minutes outside Gothenburg.

Today, Almedahls has about 10,000 unique designs in its treasury!
