The Swedish-speaking author and artist Tove Jansson became famous worldwide as the creator of the Moomin stories, which are about a family of adventurous trolls that live in Moomin Valley with their friends. The stories of the white, round Moomin trolls with big snouts were written and illustrated between 1945 and 1980, and they have since been translated into more than fifty languages. The two designs of the AW22 collection – Moomin Present and Moomin Camping – originate from the ”Desert Island” and ”Family Life” comic strips. Both were first published in the 1950s as daily comic strips in the Evening News, an English newspaper. The comic strips quickly became a great success and helped pave the way for the further refinement of Tove Jansson’s work. The daily comic strips were based on the wonderful world of the Moomins, with plenty of amusing and wacky stories that can be interpreted on multiple levels. They were recognised for their engaging storytelling, humour and creativity – the narratives often ’broke’ out of their panels. The arrangement with the Evening News was a life-changing event for Tove Jansson. It gave her financial freedom, and the comics were subsequently printed in 40 countries to reach more than 20 million readers. In 1959, Tove Jansson transferred the work of the daily comic strips to her brother Lars Jansson to allocate more time for her many other projects. The To Go Click cup has a state-of-the art ‘smart click’ function that with an easy push on the top, lets you open and close the cup easily. When the cup is closed, it keeps your beverage warmer for longer time due to the double-walled thermal effect.
